NIC/EIC Approved Contractor
NICEIC is the UK’s leading voluntary regulatory body for the electrical contracting industry. It has been assessing the electrical competence of electricians for nearly sixty years and currently maintains a roll of over 26,000 registered contractors.
In addition to the core electrical business NICEIC provide certification to firms across the heating, plumbing, renewable and insulation sectors.
NICEIC has developed a reputation amongst consumers, specifiers of work and industry for promoting safety, integrity and technical excellence.
Contractors undergo a rigorous assessment process, covering a representative sample of their work, their premises, documentation, equipment, and the competence of their key supervisory staff. They are then re-assessed on a regular basis to ensure continued compliance.
Gas Safe Register
The official list of gas engineers who are registered to work safely and legally on boilers, cookers, fires and all other gas appliances. By law all gas engineers must be on the Gas Safe Register.
TrustMark is a quality mark which operates a framework under which 31 Scheme Operators work in the RMI (repair, maintenance and improvement) sector, including trade associations, local government trading standards teams, and independent Scheme Operators. These schemes are approved to carry the TrustMark logo and recruit reputable and trustworthy tradesmen. This enables the TrustMark Scheme Operators to promote improved RMI sector standards, and tackle related issues such as better enforcement. All of these Scheme Operators are audited annually by TrustMark, to ensure processes, standards and complaint procedures are being maintained.
Federation of Master Builders
The Federation of Master Builders is widely recognised in the construction industry. Only those builders and specialists who have passed the vetting process are accepted as members.
The FMB acts as the voice of small construction; influencing policy makers to improve the regulatory environment for construction SMEs, with a number of commercial industry partners who are able to offer useful services to members.
